Did You Know That...
Fact 1
A recent study by the University of Wisconsin-Madison calculated the average energy payback of Midwestern wind farms to be between 20 and 40 times as much energy as they consume (depending on the average wind speeds at the site), while nuclear power plants and coal plants generate only about 16 and 11 times as much.
Fact 2
Wind turbines are also highly efficient in a larger sense: they generate electricity from a natural, renewable resource, without any hidden social or environmental costs – there is no need to mine for fuel or transport it, no global warming pollutants created, and no need to store, treat, or dispose of wastes.

The Program for support of social initiatives earmarks up to € 21,000 for development of Dolovo, Vladmirovac and Mramorak.
Traditional events like the Wine Festival, Pie Making Competition (Strudlijada) or the Bedstraw Festival (Ivanjsko Cvece) are only some of activities that the residents of Mramorak, Dolovo and Vladimirovac will organize next year. For development of these three Vojvodina’s local communities more than € 20,000 is being earmarked through the Program for support of social initiatives. This Program actually continues the activities which have been sponsored by the Continental Wind Serbia (CWS) and Vetroelektrane Balkana (WEBG) since the very beginning of building the Cibuk 1 windpark.
Only the active participation of the residents will help to achieve the economic and social development which in turn will help in harmonization of legislation with the EU, in securing better transparency and the sustainable development. This is the aim of the Program for support of social initiatives. All interested are very welcome to contact their local communities and propose their ideas related to promotion of local customs and traditions as well as the European values through various cultural, sport and educational activities.

Events and organizations from the area are numerous but their common characteristic is that they are all very important for people from Dolovo, Mramorak and Vladimirovac because they improve the quality of their lives.
