On the list of projects approved within the frame of the Program for Support of Social Initiatives in 2016, the priority has been given to those proposals which will improve infrastructure, cherish tradition and promote culture, sport and ecology. Several months following this year’s call to local organizations and civil associations to bid and send their proposals, the procedures were completed, the list closed and now it can be said that the approved projects are actually very diverse and that all will contribute in improving the quality of life of all residents in four places included into the Program i.e. in Mramorak, Dolovo, Bavaniste and Vladimirovac. According to the propositions all projects will have been completed at most by the end of this year.
The Program for Support to Social Initiatives has entered deep into its fourth year of life. As was often pointed out last spring at the presentations dedicated to this year’s bids both the citizens and the donator were satisfied with the quality of projects.
The program is conceived so as to improve the quality of life for residents and local communities in the area where the wind farm is being under construction. The total sum of donations for 2016 amounts to more than € 23,000 and this sum would be distributed to Mramorak, Dolovo, Bavaniste and Vladimirovac proportional to the impact which the wind farm construction will have on these four places.
The list of approved projects for Mramorak includes the replacement of dilapidated doors of the locker rooms and the hall at the Elementary School ‘Sava Maksimovic’, some repairs at the premises of Football Club ‘Proleter’ and the local community, the support to the cultural society KUD ‘Mramorak’, the Civil Association ‘Green Link’ and to the Volunteer Fire Company ‘Mramorak’.
This year, donations from the Program for Support of Social Initiatives will be used to fence the Sport-Recreation Center Dolovo, and to enable survival of the school journal ‘Firefly’. Donations will also help the organization of the 17th Dolovo Strudel (Pie) Competition, the support to Cultural Society ‘KUD Banat Embroidery’ and the Cultural Center ‘25th May’.
Donation for Bavaniste will be used to publish the monograph about this place, the organization of the Jazz and Blues Festival ‘Artavlija’ as well as for the reconstruction and restoration of the old village fountain. The support will also help the local folklore society and the Civil Association ‘Green Link.’
The list of projects for Vladimirovac, which is entitled to the highest amount, is the longest and most diverse. In addition to the football field which will be done up and fenced by the end of fall, some repairs of infrastructure will be done at the Local Community and the Cultural Center whose façade needs refurbishing. The ‘Dositej Obradovic’ Library will get a new bookshelf, and other projects include the Association of Refugees and Settlers Alibunar, the Association of Women Worthy Hands of Banat and the Cultural Art Society ‘Armonia’.
