This year the amount of financial assistance earmarked for the Program for Support of the Social Initiatives is equal to last year’s, 2015. This is the main information that the residents of Mramorak got from the WEBG representatives when they inform them about conditions for competing, the procedure and the principle of selections of projects which can get the WEBG support. The total amount of donation is € 24,000 and this amount is distributed to local communities in the same way as it was done last year. All interested are instructed to stick to programs which have so far, actually since 2013 when the program became systematic, proved to be the most successful. The programs aimed to help infrastructure, the protection of environment and children will have priority.
Of € 24,000, which is the total amount earmarked for the Program For Support Of the Social Initiatives this year, four local communities will receive different amounts, depending on the temporary effects they will go through because of construction works. Donations from this program will go to Mramorak, Vladimirovac, Dolovo and Bavaniste. The previously established competition procedure hasn’t changed. The application form authorized with the signature and official seal should be either sent to or scanned and e-mailed to the local community. The key information is that the WEBG support a part of the proposed project, which means that the proposal should ensure some additional sources of support.
The procedure envisages that the commission consisting of the representatives of local communities and the WEBG representatives decide on the final choice of the submitted project, which should be additionally approved by the new owner. The residents of Mramorak were informed which activities should be considered desirable for the proposed projects: it is above all infrastructure, ecology i.e. protection of environment, and children.
The support doesn’t include commercial activities.
The representatives of civic organizations and other interested citizens for participation in this program wanted to know what could be decisive for allocation of funds – the decision brought by commission or the project as such?
It was emphasized that all representatives in the commission are independent in their decisions and that the final selection will depend on the project success in the previous years. The residents of Mramorak and the WEBG representatives, when speaking about particular projects, pointed out the project of putting up a fence around the school, which was partly made possible owing to donation from this program. Such small structural projects surely have a chance to get support in this year’s program, but there are also cultural and education programs, the programs intended for children or the protection of environment, sport activities, the manifestations of general interest, support to co-citizens in need and similar.
As regards selection, it was said that about 600,000 RSD, which is the amount earmarked for programs in Mramorak, would be distributed to 3 to 4 projects which successfully pass selection. As according to the law, the local communities are not allowed to have their own money, the WEBG will transfer money either on the applicant’s account or money will be paid directly on the basis of invoice.
