A recent study by the University of Wisconsin-Madison calculated the average energy payback of Midwestern wind farms to be between 20 and 40 times as much energy as they consume (depending on the average wind speeds at the site), while nuclear power plants and coal plants generate only about 16 and 11 times as much.

Wind turbines are also highly efficient in a larger sense: they generate electricity from a natural, renewable resource, without any hidden social or environmental costs – there is no need to mine for fuel or transport it, no global warming pollutants created, and no need to store, treat, or dispose of wastes.
SIP 2015: FROM THE DELIBLATO SANDS TO THE PENSIONERS'CLUB
The program sponsored by the Continental Wind Serbia in supporting social initiatives in the area of the Cibuk 1 Wind Farm project continued also during 2015. The list of already defined programs to be supported included more than 40 different cultural, educational, sport and other activities. The program of support to social initiatives also covered the activities of the NGOs' activists, students, the members of art and folklore groups, sportsmen, pensioners, firemen, farmers and other inhabitant from the Local Communities of Dolovo, Vladimirovac, Bavaniste and Mramorak. The total value of donation earmarked to support the above activities in 2015 amounted to € 24,000. The program of support to social initiatives the CWS Company had been running as from 2013.
